Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake novels might be worth a look; I haven't read them but the mix of erotic S&M, vampires and such has gotten high praise from smart acquaintances. A bit more info would be helpful, along with a few pointers to the kind(s) of fantasy/sci-fi you like. This one was much better than Astra & Flondrix, but to be honest that’s not much of a compliment. This book, however, is fantastic. This book, however, is fantastic. It suffers from some unfortunate oldman-isms re: sex and gender, but they’re really not that bad considering the novel’s publication date.

Astra and Flondrix represents a departure in the field of fantasy fiction: an erotic Tolkien. Seamus Cullen, using a humor ranging from the gentle to the ribald, has joined past mythology to a post-atomic age.

In doing so, he has created a magical world for adults as unique as the one Richard Adams created for children in Watership Down/5. The publishers have billed this British import ""erotic Tolkien,"" but there's more Happy Hooker than Hobbit in the scenario.

As the confused offspring of a deepthroated union between mortal king and Elvan beauty, Flondrix is an anatomical puzzle (""no whango, no cobblers nothing"") until he taps the magic button that releases not one but two ""twin spires"" and finds singular bliss with.

Astra and Flondrix by Seamus Cullen,Pantheon Books edition, in English - Pages: "Astra and Flondrix" was a British import that was republished over here by a publisher who must have been insane. It's ostensibly a parody of epic fantasy books, but mostly it's a pornfest of silly, absurd, bizarre, and occasionally scary sex acts.

**Trigger warning** It’s not a ton, but it happens in the book so we discuss it briefly. We haven’t read a bonkers sex novel in a while so here we go. The jacket describes it like a sexual Tolkien, but that’s an insult to Tolkien and the concept of sex.
